At Timber Valley, Karen and I have the privilege of sharing our 100-acre farm with guests from near and far. Every private tour takes us through scenic overlooks, peaceful trails, and beautiful gathering places that have become part of our family’s journey.
Yet there is one destination we never visit first.
We always save The Cove for last.
Guests often don’t know why until we begin the gentle ride down the hollow in the Bobcat. As we make our way through Timber Valley, the air begins to change. The cool air of the hollow gently flows across our faces as we gradually descend toward The Cove.
Almost without realizing it, the pace of life begins to slow.
That’s when many guests first realize they aren’t simply touring a venue.
They’re experiencing something much deeper.

As we make our way through Timber Valley in the seat of the Bobcat, something remarkable begins to happen. The air becomes cooler, the sounds of everyday life begin to fade, and the peaceful hollow gently welcomes guests into another part of the farm.
It’s a journey that naturally encourages people to slow down.
Many guests don’t even realize they’ve become quieter until they reach The Cove.

Perhaps that’s why Karen and I have always believed the journey to The Cove is just as meaningful as the destination itself.
It’s one of the reasons we always save it for last.

In today’s busy world, finding a place where you can truly slow down has become increasingly rare.
The Cove offers exactly that.
Surrounded by majestic sycamore trees, a crystal-clear spring-fed pond quietly reflects the beauty of every season. On warm summer days, the cool air of the hollow provides a refreshing escape, while winter mornings often greet visitors with gentle steam rising from the pond as the first rays of sunshine dance across the still water.
It’s the kind of place where conversations naturally become quieter.
Where birdsong replaces traffic.
Where spring peepers provide the evening music.
And where many guests discover something they didn’t even realize they were looking for…
A moment of peace.
Karen and I have watched countless visitors pause beside the pond, breathe deeply, and simply enjoy the beauty surrounding them.
It’s a reminder that sometimes the greatest experiences aren’t found in doing more.
They’re found in slowing down long enough to appreciate God’s creation.
Reason #3: The Cove at Timber Valley Invites You to Be Still

Nestled within The Cove is one of the most peaceful places at Timber Valley—God’s Cathedral.
Surrounded by majestic sycamore trees and ancient moss-covered boulders, it’s a place where many guests naturally lower their voices.
No one asks them to.
The peaceful surroundings simply invite them to listen.
One morning during a private tour, we noticed a guest had quietly stepped away.
A little while later, we found her sitting alone beneath the trees in God’s Cathedral, peacefully reading.
No one suggested it.
No one planned it.
The Cove simply invited her to stay awhile.
Moments like that remind Karen and me that some of life’s greatest gifts aren’t found in busy schedules.
Sometimes they’re discovered in the peaceful quietness of God’s creation.

One of the things Karen and I love most about The Cove is that no two visits are ever exactly the same.
Every season reveals another chapter.
Spring awakens the hollow with fresh green leaves, colorful woodland wildflowers, and the familiar chorus of spring peepers around the spring-fed pond.
Summer welcomes visitors with cool shade beneath the majestic sycamores, where the refreshing air of the hollow offers a peaceful escape from the heat.
Autumn transforms The Cove into a breathtaking display of gold, crimson, bronze, and brilliant shades of orange, making every walk feel like a journey through a living masterpiece.
Then winter quietly unveils another kind of beauty.
On cold mornings, steam gently rises from the spring-fed pond as the first rays of sunshine break over the ridge and dance across the still water, creating one of the most peaceful scenes you’ll find anywhere at Timber Valley.
No matter the season…
