This philosophy of stewardship naturally extends into our philanthropic efforts. We believe that when our business succeeds, the community around us—both local in Clear Spring and global—should benefit alongside us.

The Causes Close to Our Hearts – Giving Back
1. Faith-Based Outreach and Scripture Sharing
We believe in spreading hope and faith across the globe. Through our contributions, we support the distribution of Bibles and inspirational materials worldwide.
- Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA)
- Founded by the late Billy Graham, the BGEA has a storied history of proclaiming the Gospel to millions through every effective means possible. In 2026, the BGEA continues this mission with global festivals and tours, reaching from Southeast Asia to South America and across the United States. We support their work in mobilizing churches and individuals to share a message of hope and salvation. Their 2026 efforts include large-scale festivals in Madrid, Spain, and Manchester, England, as well as digital platforms that reach thousands of individuals seeking spiritual meaning.
- Bible League International
- Bible League International serves under-resourced churches by providing Bibles and training to transform lives globally. Their work is vital in areas where access to Scripture is limited by economic or social barriers. We are particularly inspired by their 2026 initiatives to help children and adults receive Bibles translated into their “mother tongue,” ensuring that the truth of God is accessible to everyone in a language they understand best.
- Our Daily Bread Ministries
- With a history dating back to 1938, Our Daily Bread Ministries has grown from a small radio program into a global movement. Today, they serve over 35 million people in 150 countries. We support their mission to make the life-changing wisdom of the Bible understandable and accessible to all. Their devotionals, podcasts, and digital resources help people of all nations grow in their personal relationship with Christ, navigating everyday life with the hope and truth found in God’s Word.

2. Local Community and Hero Support
Our local community in Clear Spring, Maryland, means everything to us. We believe in supporting the heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our families safe.
Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company
The Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company is the backbone of our community’s safety. As a nonprofit organization, they provide critical emergency response, fire suppression, and medical rescue services to our rural area. Our 2026 golf sponsorship and ongoing contributions help maintain life-saving equipment and support the rigorous training of the brave volunteers who protect our neighbors and properties.

3. Clean Water and Humanitarian ReliefClean, safe water and humanitarian aid are fundamental human needs. We are proud to support organizations that bring life-saving resources to those in crisis.
Water Mission
Water Mission is a Christian engineering nonprofit that builds sustainable, safe water solutions. In 2026, they are scaling innovations like solar-powered piped water systems in remote regions. These systems provide entire communities and schools with permanent access to safe water, dramatically reducing waterborne diseases and allowing children to spend their time in school rather than walking miles to fetch water from unsafe sources. Their focus on sustainability ensures that these water systems thrive for years to come.
Samaritan’s Purse
Headed by Franklin Graham, Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to victims of war, natural disasters, and poverty in over 100 countries. In 2026, they continue significant construction projects, including medical centers and community resilience centers in regions facing conflict. Their “Operation Christmas Child” program mobilizes over half a million volunteers annually to deliver hope to children globally.
North Carolina Disaster Relief
Our support extends to regional recovery efforts, such as those in North Carolina. These initiatives focus on long-term rebuilding, helping families repair homes, restore infrastructure, and regain stability after devastating storms. By funding local recovery groups, we help ensure that the help reaches those most in need.
Food For The Poor
This organization provides food, medicine, and shelter to the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean. Their 2026 projects focus on long-term sustainability, helping communities build their own food sources and housing so they can break the cycle of poverty and thrive independently.
Heifer International
Since 1944, Heifer International has assisted nearly 60 million households in ending hunger and poverty. By providing livestock and training to smallholder farmers—particularly women—they help families achieve a sustainable living income. In 2026, they are focusing on empowering women farmers through micro-loans and sustainable agricultural practices, fostering independence and resilience across four continents.
Since 1944, Heifer International has assisted millions of households in ending hunger and poverty. By providing livestock, mechanization, and digital tools, they help families achieve a sustainable living income, fostering independence and resilience for generations to come. Their “passing on the gift” model means that families who receive help eventually help others in their community, creating a ripple effect of prosperity.

4. Faith-Centered Media and Encouragement
Positive, uplifting messages have the power to transform a day and provide a sense of peace.
WORD FM
We regularly support Christian radio outlets like WORD FM, which broadcast encouraging music and faith-centered programs. This media outreach serves as a constant companion to listeners, providing a message of peace, community, and spiritual growth near and far.
Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah
Founded in 1982, Turning Point is a broadcast ministry dedicated to delivering the unchanging Word of God to an ever-changing world. Today, it covers six continents and reaches every state in the U.S. We support their mission to draw men and women into a deeper knowledge of God’s Word through clear, biblical teaching that avoids political or topical trends.

5. Compassionate Care and Family Services
Supporting the vulnerable is a cornerstone of our mission at Timber Valley Farm Barn Rental.
Community in Action: A Testimonial of Faith
We are always humbled when our property serves as a backdrop for spiritual growth and community building. Recently, we had the honor of hosting a local congregation for their spiritual gathering, highlighting how our 100-acre farm provides the quietude necessary for modern ministry retreats and non-profit workshops.
“Timber Valley Farm Barn Rental was the perfect location for our Following Christ Retreat. The grounds are beautiful, with amazing areas for peaceful prayer and reflection. The large room had plenty of space for small and large group discussion, watching videos, as well as food/drink stations. Tom and Karen are delightful to work with. We will definitely be reaching out for future retreats. Thank you so much, and May Our Awesome God bless you both richly and abundantly.”
— Jim and Laura, St. Peter’s Catholic Church
This feedback reinforces our mission: to provide a sanctuary where organizations can step away from the noise of the world and focus on their core purpose. Whether it is a day of reflection or a collaborative workshop, the “Enchanted Forest” and the open-air design of our timber frame barn offer a unique environment that fosters creativity and spiritual connection.
St. Augustine’s and Catholic Charities
These organizations provide comfort and relief to those living in poverty. Following the Rule of St. Augustine—which emphasizes love, harmony, and the sharing of possessions—they provide essential services such as food assistance, housing support, and counseling to families regardless of their background, ensuring that no neighbor has to face hardship alone.
US Fellowship – Oak Hill House
Based in Maryland, Oak Hill House has a long history of providing safe, supportive stability for adolescent young men. They offer a “home away from home” focused on counseling and education, helping young men overcome obstacles and develop the skills needed to become productive, compassionate contributors to society.

A Proven Legacy of Stewardship and Outreach
The mission of giving at Timber Valley Farm Barn Rental did not start recently; it is a continuation of a lifelong commitment to service shared by Karen and Tom Grosh. Alongside Grosh’s Lawn Service and Timber Valley Retreat, we have spent decades planting seeds of hope in Washington County and across the globe.
Our history of outreach includes a wide range of local and international support, such as:
- Hunger Relief: Partnering with the Salvation Army to provide hundreds of holiday turkey dinners and supporting the Williamsport Maryland Food Pantry and Reach Shelter.
- Youth & Education: Sponsoring the Clear Spring Little League, the Clear Spring Blazer Band, and providing funding for local PTAs and the Mason-Dixon Council.
- Local Heroes: Ongoing support for the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company and the Clear Spring American Legion Post 222 Auxiliary.
- Empowerment & Health: Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters, Meritus Health Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Washington County Maryland, Inc.
- Global Impact: Funding the purchase of livestock through Heifer International and Food For The Poor to help families start small businesses, and providing clean water wells through Water Mission.
Whether it is donating socks and supplies to local shelters or supporting Independence Jam and Washington County Gives, our goal remains the same: to be a blessing to others. This collective history of stewardship ensures that when you choose our farm for your event, you are partnering with a team that has a deep-rooted, proven heart for the community.

The Power of the Mustard Seed: Making Our World a Better Place
We often look at the vast needs of the world—the hunger, the lack of clean water, the spiritual searching—and feel overwhelmed by the scale of the challenge. It is easy to wonder if one person, one family, or one local business in Clear Spring, Maryland, can truly move the needle. However, we believe in a different perspective. We believe that each of us has a unique, God-given opportunity to make the world a better place, not by solving every problem at once, but by being faithful with what we have been given.
In the Scriptures, we are taught about the power of the mustard seed. Though it is one of the smallest seeds on earth, when planted in good soil and nurtured, it grows into a magnificent tree, large enough to provide shelter and rest for the birds of the air. This is how we view our mission at Timber Valley Farm Barn Rental. Our contributions, and the support of the couples who celebrate here, are like those tiny seeds. We plant them with a heart of service, and we trust God to do the rest.
Small Actions, Eternal Impact
Making an impact doesn’t always require a grand gesture; it requires a willing heart. When you choose to support a local fire company, you are planting a seed of safety and security for your neighbors. When you contribute to a clean water project halfway across the globe, you are planting a seed of health and hope for a family you may never meet. When you support the distribution of a Bible, you are planting a seed of eternal truth.
Each of us is a vessel. When we open our hands to give, we allow God’s grace to flow through us and into the lives of others. We don’t have to worry about the “how” or the “when” of the harvest. Our role is simply to be the sower—to plant the seeds of kindness, generosity, and faith wherever we find ourselves. Whether you are a business owner, a newlywed couple starting your life together, or a guest visiting our farm, you have a seed in your hand.
Joining the Movement of Hope
At our farm, we see the beauty of growth every single day. We see it in the towering timber frame of our barn, the ancient trees in the Enchanted Forest, and the seasonal changes across our 100 acres. We know that growth takes time, and it starts beneath the surface. The same is true for the impact we make in the world.
We invite you to join us in this movement of hope. As you plan your celebrations and look toward your future, remember that you are part of a much larger story. Every choice we make to give back, to look out for the vulnerable, and to support the “least of these” is an investment in a better world. We plant the mustard seed today, confident that God is already at work, growing something beautiful that will provide shade and shelter for generations to come.
Let us be a people who plant with joy, give with radical generosity, and watch with expectation as the smallest seeds transform the world into a brighter, kinder place for everyone. Giving Back and Community Impact and World Impact– At Timber Valley Farm Barn Rental

Being a Global Neighbor: Extending Our Reach Beyond the Farm
At Timber Valley Farm Barn Rental, we often talk about the beauty of our local landscape—the rolling hills of Maryland, the quiet of the Enchanted Forest, and the sturdy beams of our timber frame barn. But our vision of “community” doesn’t stop at the property line or even at the borders of Clear Spring. We believe that in today’s connected world, everyone is our neighbor. This belief is the heartbeat of our giving. When we see a need for clean water in a distant village or the need for spiritual encouragement in a faraway country, we feel called to act.
Creating a Legacy of Kindness
Every wedding, corporate retreat, or family gathering held here contributes to a legacy that spans continents. We want our clients to know that their choice of venue has a profound ripple effect. While you are making memories that will last a lifetime, you are also helping us provide life-changing resources to those who may never have the chance to visit a place like this. It is a beautiful partnership: your joy in celebration directly fuels our ability to provide relief to those in hardship.
A Commitment to the Future
Our commitment to giving back is not a seasonal trend; it is a permanent pillar of how we operate. By supporting organizations that focus on long-term sustainability—like teaching a family how to farm or building a permanent well—we are investing in a future where every community can thrive. We aren’t just providing temporary fixes; we are planting seeds of independence and health. As we look forward to the many celebrations yet to come at Timber Valley, we remain steadfast in our mission to be a light in the world. We invite you to be a part of this journey, knowing that together, we are making a measurable, positive impact on the world we all share.
